Rasha Fadhil (RASHA MOUSA)
​
is an award-winning short-story writer, novelist, playwright, and journalist. She was born in Basra in 1975 and spent her childhood there, attended college and lived for a time in Tikrit, and currently resides in the UK.
She holds a Master’s Degree from Lebanese University / Faculty of Letters and Human
Sciences, in Language Sciences and Communication, and a B.A. in English from the University of Tikrit, and awarded a certificate from Bangkok e-learning series on Information and Communication
Technology in Education and was awarded a certificate in International Journalism and Media Studies from the Institute of Arab Strategy in Beirut in 2008.
She has participated in numerous conferences, conventions, and literary and cultural events inside and outside of Iraq like:
World Women 's Day in Paris, invited by the French Foreign Ministry 2017
and hosted by the German newspaper Düsseldorf in Germany 2017,
forum of Creative Arab Women in its 16th session held in Tunisia – 2012,
Amman Short Story Forum in its third session - 2011,
Founding conference of the International Pen Club held in Damascus - 2007,
and Founding conference of the Iraqi Supreme Council of Culture held in Amman -
2007.
Awards:
1- Dubai cultural Award in the novel - 2011.
2- Nazik Al-Malaika prize in the short story from the Iraqi Minister of Culture – 2011.
3- Several awards for her plays in Iraq and other Arab countries such as ( Nizwa University in the Sultanate of Oman
the play(The Whips ) was presented in Morocco which had won several awards.

2- Contemporary Plays from Iraq (Ishtar in Baghdad) - Bloomsbury Publishing –London.
3- The book "Eyes of Inanna" is a collection of stories and poems by Iraqi writers published in German, Arab and French editions in collaboration with the Goethe Institute and by German journalist Brigitte Savenson.
4- Scriptwriter and dialogue (Syrian \Lebanese television series ( Ala fard mkhade).
5- short stories (A Narrative Virus) published by Al Shams Publishing and
Distribution – Cairo, 2008.

She has worked for the Red Crescent and the Red Cross in Iraq at the Department of Prisoners and Detainees as well as in health education addressing AIDS prevention.
She was among the creative writers honored by the Iraqi Ministry of Culture in 2010 and has received several international awards in playwriting and short fiction. Her plays have been staged in Oman, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, and Iraq.
